BPAP Chairman Lauds Government Support to the Philippine BPO Industry

"2012 has been another banner year for the Philippine BPO industry, and the industry is increasingly well positioned to address the inevitable challenges ahead, in significant part because of an effective partnership with government," Business process Outsourcing association of the Philippines (BPAP) Chairman Alfredo Ayala said at the International Outsourcing Summit.  

In his statement, Ayala clarified that the support extended by the government to the BPO industry is very concrete.  “We have made significant progress,” he remarked.  “With an unprecedented P668 million in (support) funding,” primarily from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) but also the Commission on Higher Education, the Department (CHEd) of Science and Technology’s Information Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO), and other agencies." he said.

Whereas before, businessmen and corporate executives from here and abroad are hesitant to invest in the Philippines due to the political instability and economic crisis issues, the horizons for business owners are clearer now.  

The BPO industry has boomed even more due to the support offered by the government to the BPO industry.  More than anything else, this is one of the reasons why investing in the Philippines can put your business at a definite advantage.  Aside from highly-skilled industry professionals, we also have strong government support and effective business legislations to help further the BPO industry to an even greater extent
